Warm & Toasty Hot Cocoa

A warm fire and a nice, cozy blanket with some toasty hot cocoa, sweet and rich, to satisfy your senses! Did you know, research actually proves that 70% cacao actively can fight flu symptoms.

This anti-inflammatory activates your natural immunity and provides stronger protection against illness. It also prevents migraines and headaches. So many amazing benefits!

Ingredients

  • 6 cups of farm-fresh raw milk or non-dairy milk of choice

  • 1 cup of cacao powder

  • 2 cups of Lily's white baking chocolate

  • 2 tsp of vanilla

  • 1 Tbsp maple syrup (optional)

Method

Pour 6 cups of your choice of milk into a pot at medium heat. As it heats up a bit, start adding your cacao powder and stir until dissolved. You can use a whisk for this also. Add baking chocolate and vanilla (and maple syrup if desired). Cook until chocolate is melted into the liquid and has a nice, smooth consistency. Ladle into cups, and top off with my farm-fresh whipped cream.

Old-fashioned fresh whipped cream

  • 1 heaping teaspoon of pure vanilla extract

  • 1 pint of fresh heavy cream

  • Maple syrup to taste

Using a KitchenAid mixer: Chill the bowl and add your cream, maple syrup to taste, and real vanilla extract. Whip till it has high peaks. One way to test this is to put a knife in the bowl. If it leaves a line, then it's done.

If using just a bowl and whisk: Chill the bowl, add ingredients, and whisk till it gets nice and thick.
